Consulting with our SEND Pupils, Parents and Carers

Consulting with our SEND Pupils, Parents and Carers

Consultation with Children and Young People with SEND

The SEND children attending our school are aged 3-11 years and consultation with these children to seek their views, about how we meet their needs, has to be age appropriate and sensitive to any communication needs that they may have. Teachers, the SENCO and Support Staff will work with children and young people to identify the support needed to meet agreed outcomes. Pupil Voice is also used across school to gather the views of children with SEND on the support that they are receiving.

Consultation with parents and carers of children with SEND

We are committed to working with parents/carers to identify their child’s needs and support required. The impact of support in school on a child’s life outside school is equally relevant as the impact seen in school. It is important to us that we maintain open lines of communication with families.

  • The SENDCo, Mrs Hill, is a teacher within our school and is readily available to parents through face-to-face meetings, phone call or via email.
  • Parents evenings and parent pop-ins enable parents and carers to discuss the needs of their child with the teaching team and to be consulted in the review process of their child’s support plan.

If you wish to discuss your child’s SEND needs, please do not hesitate to contact the school and arrange an appointment with Mrs Hill or Mrs Mayo.
